Biographical Notes:
 Ms. Rubenstein is one of the most experienced mediators in the United States. Practicing as a mediator since 1983, Ms. Rubenstein has successfully mediated over 2,500 cases. Ms Rubenstein mediates complex multi-party disputes in the areas of Employment, Trust and Estates, Real Property, Business, Elder Care, Family, Land Use, Personal Injury, and Professional Malpractice. She is known for her ability to understand and work with the underlying interpersonal as well as legal issues in complex disputes. Past mediation participants have reported that Ms. Rubenstein combines a compassionate attitude to all parties with an objective understanding of the law and a practical problem solving approach to settlement. Her success rate in reaching agreement is in the 95% range.
She provides MCLE courses for the California State Bar in Mediation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Negotiation and teaches Mediation as an adjunct professor at University of California, Santa Barbara and with Conflict Management Institute of Santa Barbara. Ms. Rubenstein was selected by the United States Postal Service to train mediators for a national employment mediation program. She serves as a frequent Settlement Master for the Santa Barbara Superior Court.
Because of Judith's strong academic background and depth of experience in mediation for over 23 years, she is able to quickly grasp the complex legal and interpersonal issues in almost any type of dispute.

A graduate of Columbia Law School and member of Law Review, Ms. Rubenstein was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Harvard University, and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Michigan. She is admitted to practice law in both California and Massachusetts, and is a former litigation attorney. She was trained as a mediator in 1983 by Dispute Resolution Services, Inc. of the L.A. County Bar, attended the Harvard Program on Negotiation in 1985, and advanced mediation seminars at Pepperdine University in 1995-96.

RATES & PAYMENT INFORMATION |
Rates: In Santa Barbara:
$350 per hour; Minimum 1/2 day: $1,500; Full-day: $3,000
Outside Santa Barbara:
Full-Day rate: $3,500-$5,000 depending on location.

Payment: Advanced payment required 7 days prior to mediation.

Cancellation Policy: 7 day cancellation required for return of fees.
$150 retained for administration fee if cancellation.
