Biographical
JJ Johnston is a highly experienced employment and class action mediator, and the founder of Johnston Mediation. He has over 20 years of experience as a mediator and nearly 30 years of experience as an employment attorney, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of cases, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, wrongful terminations, discrimination and retaliation cases, sexual harassment cases, prevailing wage claims, fair pay act claims, and defamation claims.
He has completed multiple certifications and trainings in mediation and negotiation, including the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law and the Harvard Law School Negotiation Workshop. He is also a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators. His mission is to help parties reach mutually beneficial outcomes, using his extensive legal knowledge and experience, his communication and listening skills, and his creative and collaborative approach. He has successfully mediated complex and high-stakes matters, and has earned a reputation for being fair, trustworthy, and effective.
